Worthington’s Leigh Van Hove was the top finisher for the Trojan girls’ tennis team Friday at the Worthington Invitational tennis tournament.
At No. 2 singles, Van Hove won her first match 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, before losing her second match 4-6, 2-6 to finish 2nd.
Worthington’s Amy Schutte suffered a loss in the first round, but recovered with a 5-1, 5-0 victory to finish 3rd at No. 3 singles.
At No. 4 singles, Worthington’s Sabrina Klein dropped her first match 6-0, 6-1 and lost a close 2nd match to finish 4th.
At No. 3 doubles, Kaylynn Meinders and Jen Froderman lost their 1st match 6-1, 6-1 and lost 5-3, 5-0 loss to a pair from MCW to finish fourth.
Worthington will travel to Albert Lea Tuesday.
